Mr. Balonick began his career as a criminal prosecutor for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office in Chicago, Illinois. After almost 5 years as a criminal prosecutor, he focused on civil litigation resulting in more than 40 jury trials in both state and federal court.
In addition to focusing his practice in catastrophic injury and Plaintiff’s Malpractice, he also focuses his attention to ethics, professional responsibility of attorneys and commercial litigation. He has successfully prosecuted and defended attorneys from tort claims as well as claims of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud. Indeed, Mr. Balonick has been involved in numerous legal malpractice trials on behalf of lawyers and law firms, presenting trial testimony, developing strategies, arguing motions to exclude evidence and handling pre- and post-trial proceedings.
